EWC’s Excavation Awareness course has been certified by OSHA, CAL OSHA, and cultivated from years of practical, professional work in the field. This course aims to raise awareness of the potential hazards of working in and around excavations. Throughout this course, you’ll learn the following: Module 1: Excavations & Trenches - what are they, and how do they differ? Module 2: Soil Classifications - how to identify different types of soil and how that impacts your working conditions Module 3: Protective Systems - Identify various types of protective systems and how to implement them to protect you from cave-ins. Objectives We at EWC believe that these helpful facts learned in this course will stick with you for your life as a construction worker. By the end of the training, you will be able to: 1. Define the difference between an excavation and a trench. 2. Identify and prevent one of the most significant hazards in the construction world: cave-ins. 3. Name the four major soil types that can be encountered. 4. Understanding and implementation of the safety measures needed to protect workers in and around excavations
